Silhouette Art & Milo’s 18th

Last Saturday was my sweet old pony’s birthday. Milo turned 18! We bought him as a 4-year-old WP futurity winner. I loved him. He’s my forever horse, despite being insanely spoiled and let’s just say, “sensitive.” I think the spoiled aspect has something to do with it. How spoiled? Well, every year he gets a special birthday treat. One year it was peach cobbler (he hated it), the next was carrot cake (he didn’t like the frosting), and last year was garden fresh carrots (he loved them). This year I got his treat at the Farmers’ Market. He loved, really loved his oatmeal applesauce muffin. What a spoiled brat.

Other than that, I spent all of Monday evening helping Todd load a moving truck so he could officially move into our apartment in Stevens Point. I get to see it this weekend (woohoo)! As we loaded up the truck, I wondered where all my stuff will go when I move up there?

I’ve also been working on a couple of new signs and something new. Silhouette art has once again become popular but who wants a silhouette of a person when you can have one of a horse!? I’ve created five pieces of silhouette art and love each one. I didn’t feel compelled to use the traditional black and white, so I went with some beautiful patterned and textured paper. They look great matted! One thing I have yet to work out is the adhesive. I like the ease of what I used on these pieces but it doesn’t seem quite sturdy enough and any over-spray (like on the back of the matting) doesn’t seem to want to dry completely. Once I get these to hiccups worked out, I will start producing them to sell. They look great framed on a wall!

Milo really wanted me to give him his birthday muffin!
