For over a year now, I’ve been trying to figure out a good recipe for horse cookies. One that doesn’t get moldy after a few days. My first attempt, over a year ago now, was a disaster. The cookies were ugly, and molded within two days. Ever since, I’ve been hesitant to try a new recipe off the internet but finally, I did. I didn’t have about half of the ingredients so I had to improvise. The cookies have been sitting on the counter for about a week now and are as hard as rock with no mold! The only thing that went wrong with this batch? Well, they are solid cookies; really, really solid. They kind of sounded like bricks when I dumped them into a container. The heart-shaped ones also got a wee black on the bottom, even though I cooked them for a shorter amount of time than recommended. I will have to try a second batch to get them just right. After that, I will post my own recipe and instructions!
